  • 10/27/10--16:00: Halloween Special ~ Ghost Hunting Live from The Shore House Tavern - Oct 27,2010 (chan 3020768)
  • This Wednesday I am going to be daring and connect with some of the most 'alive' spirits I've encountered with a show brought to you live from The Shore House, in Point Pleasant NJ. I have done some ghost hunting there before, but never have I done it on air during my show. Here is some history on the place, and believe me when I tell you to expect the unexpected!! The Shore House, formerly known as West Side Tavern, is a historic building from the 1800’s and the oldest operating hotel in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, when it was built as the West Point Hotel. The building had access to a canal across the way that was a link to the outlet that reaches the ocean; so many visitors arrived by ship. It has a colorful past and saw many changes, through many different eras. The building is well known for being haunted. After the wreck of the sailing ship, the John Minturn, in the winter of 1856, the hotel was turned into a morgue for the 39 souls who died in one of the worst storms of all times. The hotel has been a Speak Easy, [and I've heard the honky tonk piano to prove it], a stage coach stop, a hospital, and a stop on the underground railroad, housing former slaves, but it was the ship wrecks that brought the Captain, whose picture still hangs. When I tell you I get the creeps just being upstairs is an understatement, and I might even muster up the courage to go into the attic! During the 2nd half of the show I'm going to try to take calls to hear your stories too, so tune in, and afterward, if you dare, stop by The Shore House to chat with some of the 'visitors'! Boo!

  • 02/25/11--15:30: Laguna Beach Special - Coming to you Live each Friday from The Historic Hotel Laguna - Feb 25,2011 (chan 3020768)
  • Total wellness Guru Nadia Strhak C0- Hosts our Show -- LIVE FROM HOTEL LAGUNA- A Classic Laguna Beach Hotel The world famous Hotel Laguna has maintained the essence of early California, combined with the charm and elegance of Europe’s finest historical establishments. Hotel Laguna epitomizes the true “California Riviera.” For many guests, returning to the Hotel Laguna has become a tradition. Hotel Laguna’s History Hotel Laguna was the first hotel in Laguna Beach and the first substantial business building. It remains today as the most known structure. It is picturesque, romantic and has quite an intriguing past. It was given over 100 years of almost continues service. About Laguna Beach. Settlers arriving after the American Civil War found scarce amounts of land available for homesteading, and one such tract, known then simply as "the public lands" was the coastal strip from Laguna Canyon to Three Arch Bay.By 1900 Laguna Beach was occupied by five families of homesteaders struggling to farm land. Thus began the tourist industry which is still a mainstay of the local economy. In the early 1920s the area was discovered by a group of landscape painters who laid the foundation of the art community which is still thriving to this day. The region was originally known to the Spanish as "La Cañada de Las Lagunas" which means "The Canyon of the Small Lakes", in reference to two lakes found near the head of Laguna Canyon. However, in confusion with the word "Lagoon", Laguna Beach was nearly misnamed "Lagoona" by the State of California. While it was still an unincorporated community, the Postmaster, Nicholas Isch, journeyed to Sacramento to rectify the mistake, and the original Spanish spelling was retained. Laguna Beach was incorporated as a General Law City in 1927 and has experienced a slow but steady population growth since that time. Laguna Beach was the southern California epicenter of 'alternative' culture

  • 02/02/12--15:30: Pet Friendly Travel: Baer House Inn, Vicksburg, Mississippi - Feb 02,2012 (chan 3020768)
  • The Baer House has an interesting history, filled with love and happenings of two very different families. The home was built on a site with a brick structure dating prior to 1850. In 1870 Leona and Lazrus Baer constructed the huge Victorian with a goal of impressing guests with the elaborate woodwork and grand ballroom. This home was filled with beautiful daughters and a beloved son. They lived, loved, laughed, and cried within the walls of this happy home. The home had 11 fireplaces, 4 cisterns, a wellhouse and a carriage house. It is one of the best examples of Eastlake Victorian style in the state of Mississippi and is included in "Victorian Houses of Mississippi". The cornice is modillioned and the windows display segmental arches with raised brick drip molds. Fish scale shingles and carved vergeboards accent the gable ends. The home clearly reflected the prosperity that Mr. Baer, a Jewish immigrant from Germany, had accumulated by the 1870s through his dry goods store, Baer and Brothers, established in 1865. Baer House Inn is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Please come and help us enjoy this wonderful home. Step back in time - enjoy the elegant rooms, woodwork, and style of the past. Try Southern hospitality at its best. History abounds in Vicksburg. Enjoy antique shops, outlet malls, historic homes, carriage rides in old town, and even gaming on our river boat casinos. You can visit the National Military Park and watch the grand Mississippi River roll by.
